Description This photo was taken the day Carl Oliver Reinhold was baptized a Catholic.  He was age 26 at the time.  Becoming a Catholic was required by his bride to be, Josephine Mary Van Laarhoven.  His is wearing a plaid shirt that Josephine had given him as a gift in celebration of his baptism.

Carl Oliver Reinhold was born in Fairbank, Buchanan County, Iowa on August 13, 1917.  His parents were Carl Oscar Reinhold and Nora Melissa Decker-Reinhold.  Carl Oliver was their 3rd child.  On March 20, 1920, at the age of  2, he moved with his family to Medford, Wisconsin after his father had purchased a dairy farm there.

Carl Oliver married Josephine Van Laarhoven on June 5, 1946 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in the City of Medford, Taylor County, Wisconsin.  They took over Carl Oscar and Nora Reinhold's family farm and raised their twelve children there.

In 1976, the family farm was sold.  Carl and Josephine moved to the  new home they built in Buffalo, Iowa.  After a number of years, that home was sold and they moved to Sarasota, Florida.  A final move brought them to Salisbury, North Carolina.

Carl Oliver died January 5, 2002 at his home in Salisbury, NC.  Cause of death was myocardial infarction.  His cremains were buried at the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Medford, Wisconsin, on what would have been Carl Oliver and Josephine's 56th anniversary, June 5, 2002.
